Camp Program for Minors
West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) has specific policies and procedures for the establishment and operation of the Camp Program for Minors (CPM). The WTAMU CPM is supervised and operated by the Office of Extended Studies in direct collaboration and accountability with the WTAMU Risk Management and Compliance Office in conjunction with the Texas A&M University System Office of Risk Management and Safety. The CPM Program Coordinator is Vanessa Gonzalez, the Director for the Extended Studies Department is Michelle Vinyard and the Vice President of Research and Compliance for the University is Richard Smith.
Campus Programs for Minors are University-sponsored events and activities that typically include all but are not limited to the following elements:
- The participant group is made up, in whole or in part, of individuals under the age of 18.
- A university department, college, administrative unit, professional school, branch campus, recognized student organization, and/or third-party assuming care, custody, and/or control of the participants.
- May or may not collect fees from participants.
Our Goal
Our goal is to facilitate efforts that create an environment where youth are consistently safe on our campuses and institutional spaces and where our faculty, staff, and student organizations who engage with youth understand their risk responsibility and implement a high standard of youth protection.
