WTAMU Forensics Team Competes at KSU Buff/Cat Meet


CANYON, Texas—The West Texas A&M forensics team traveled to Kansas State University in Manhattan for the Buff/Cat competition which WTAMU hosted on Saturday, Oct. 7.

On Sunday, Oct. 8, Drew Dunn, a senior from Levelland, and Terri Burnett, a freshman from Nazareth, placed first in Duo Interpretation, followed by Carlos Perez, a senior from Olton, and Bailey McClure, a freshman from Canyon, in third place. Belle Elliott, a sophomore from Odessa, and Corrie Allen, a freshman from Canyon, took seventh in Duo Interpretation. Perez also competed in Poetry and Program Oral Interpretation and received a fifth place in each category.

Caroline Vick, a senior from Abernathy, competed in two events and placed sixth in Impromptu Speaking and seventh in Persuasive Speaking. Josiah Atkinson, a freshman from Beaumont, placed sixth in Extemporaneous Speaking.

The team will compete again in November.
